Sad news from the webmistress - Tufty my beautiful black boy was knocked down and killed today. He was such a lovely cat my children and I are naturally very upset.

On a brighter note Max II went outside for the first time today and absolutely loved it.

Your new webmistress is Lori. Actually I should be called a web beginner. I am completly new to this but I hope you like the changes I am making. Please be patient with me. I have 3 cats, you can read about them here.

Now Moya is on her own she had decided she wasn't going to take in any more cats until the numbers had gone down.  Needless to say she is still taking in cats!  A call from a vet in Eaton has led to the new arrival of Max II on Monday 18th February.  Max was thought originally to be doubly incontinent and his owners decided that they could not keep him. He is a 5 year old chocolate Burmese.

He is settling in very well. He is already roaming the house as if he has never lived anywhere else. He is busy making new friends. in a turn of events he started to use a litter tray for bowel movements, meaning that Moya only has to express his bladder daily. We live in hope that the nerves may heal here too.

Last year four Woodland cats passed away. You can read about them on the in memorium page.

Harvey, our handsome ginger lad who is now 3 years old, has unfortunately been diagnosed with diabetes and has to have two injections of insulin every day. Other than this, he is still fit and well.

    • My apologies for not updating you sooner on all that has been happening lately. Firstly I have to tell you that Louise Van Der Wees has decided to move on. I would like to record my sincere appreciation for all the help, encouragement and assistance that she has given me since the inception of Woodland Cat Rescue. I know it has been a wrench for her to leave the 'family' and we wish her well in her new ventures.

    • Good Publicity - We went to the theatre recently to see Julian Clarey. He had seen the notice about our garden sale in the Eastern Evening News. That evening he mentioned it during his act and so I let him know that we were in the audience. He gave us a signed programme to raffle. Nice chap.

    • Unfortunately this news is not good news. On Tuesday the 26th November we had a collecting tin stolen from Willow Veterinary Clinic. Tim Roe who runs the practice was naturally very upset about this and very kindly donated £30 to help recompense us for the loss. It just proves what we all know already - that there are some people who will sink very low for the sake of a few pounds of easy pickings.
